Reinforced Gum Tape! What?

If you've ever received a package in the mail...whether you ordered something online or through a catalog...you've most likely seen this tape in action.

It's a great option for sealing your cartons and is often used by companies when fulfilling mail orders. Since it's reinforced with fiberglass it performs well whether you overfill or underfill your packages.

It works so well because it is a water activated tape...the moisture reduces curl, increases tape stretch and gives more flexibility. It is a very consistent adhesive with the kind of strength you need for packaging your boxes.

This tape typically comes in several grades - economy for sealing 20 lb boxes, standard for sealing 25 lb boxes, heavy-duty for sealing 35 lb boxes, and premium for sealing 60 lb boxes.

Water activated gum tape is also not affected by extreme temperatures...whether cold or hot…which eliminates concerns when dealing with certain warehouses. This tape is also bio-degradable making it 100% recyclable.

Rolls per Case
These tapes are usually sold in cases as follows based on the width of the tape:

The amount of tape per roll is typically 450' but can range anywhere from 375' to 600'. The amount of tape per roll determines the case quantities.

Application Method
This tape requires the use of a dispensing machine designed specifically for this application.

There are several models of these dispensing machines available that are very durable and easy to use. They activate the tape by moisturizing it and allow you to dispense tape in many lengths with a single pull.

Temperature Ranges
Temperature is not an issue with this type of tape.

Available Colors and Thickness
Reinforced gum tape comes in Kraft and White depending on your preference.

Grade is what you need to look at when determining what strength you need for the tape.

Printed Tape
Reinforced gum tape also comes pre-printed with certain shipping instructions. There are several to choose from such as... "Fragile - Handle With Care" or "Warning - Pilfer Proof". You can't tamper with this tape without detection.

Another great option, though, is to customize this tape with your company's name, etc. What a cool and unique way to seal your packages.
